CONVOTHERM IN BLOOM: EMPLOYEES TRANSFORM THE COMPANY SITE IN EGLFING INTO A NATURAL GREEN SPACE

Eglfing, Germany (18 May 2026) – At it’s headquarters in Eglfing, Germany, Convotherm is using its 50th anniversary as an opportunity to make a visible stand for biodiversity and sustainable development. To coincide with World Bee Day on 20 May, Convotherm employees, supported by the management team, have redesigned the company grounds with a view to creating a more nature-friendly environment.

At the heart of the initiative are several newly planted beds of flowers and perennials, which will serve as a future habitat for insects. Four bee colonies were introduced to the site in April. In addition, new trees have been planted and extra seating areas have been installed for employees to enjoy. The goal is to create a quality and close-to-nature experience for all visitors to the Eglfing site.

The idea for the redesign was sparked by one of Convotherm’s employees and and is actively supported by Convotherm. Since autumn 2025, employees from various departments have contributed to the project—from planting to the design of the outdoor spaces. Step by step, the grounds are being transformed into a green space that will reveal its full impact when summer starts.

“With this project, our employees are demonstrating in a very tangible way their commitment and sense of responsibility,” says Claus Pedersen, Managing Director of Convotherm. “I am delighted to see how an internal initiative has become a very visible contribution to greater biodiversity and an improved quality of life at our site.” Visitors will have the opportunity to extract the first honey from the Convotherm bees themselves during the Open House Day on 4 July 2026.

Thanks to this initiative, Convotherm demonstrates its commitment to making sustainability tangible not only in product development, but also within the everyday working environment. The project combines ecological benefits with the company’s anniversary celebrations and creates a welcoming space where employees can relax and meet up.
