Convotherm
At the side of Ukraine
For more than six months, people in Ukraine have been suffering due to the war, and the country's infrastructure has partially collapsed. The Welbilt brand Convotherm supports two aid organisations with donations.Together with the non-profit organisation INTEMI e. V., Convotherm supplies hospital kitchens in Ukraine with professional kitchen equipment. Two Convotherm combi ovens, including accessories, hoods and materials, worth around 15,000 euros were donated. Convotherm employees came up with the idea for this initiative: Karl-Heinz Speyer, kitchen planner at Welbilt Germany, organised the campaign and delivery to Ukraine, together with committed colleagues at Convotherm headquarters in Eglfing.

In addition, Convotherm employees raised 1,500 euros for the charitable organisation "Solidarity Ukraine”, led by Myroslava and Felix Schlinke-Klubuk. The German-Ukrainian couple lived in Ukraine until shortly before the war began. After fleeing, they founded an aid organisation in Weilheim that organises aid transports to the crisis areas of Ukraine in cooperation with the municipality of Polling. In addition to urgently needed medical equipment and medicines, the young paediatrician and her husband bring food, sleeping bags, blankets and protective equipment such as helmets and waistcoats into the country. The Convotherm management didn't hang around long before doubling the donation amount to 3,000 euros.
"Solidarity and cohesion are in demand, especially in times of crisis. I am very pleased that our employees in Eglfing are so committed and have launched their own initiatives to support Ukraine. It was of personal importance to the entire management team to support the two aid organisations with money and donations in kind," says Reine Wasner, General Manager Convotherm. "I am sure that this will not be our last action in this direction."
