Planners Seminar at Convotherm in Eglfing

Smart kitchen revolution: Connected, safe, efficient

The Welbilt Planners' team welcomed experts in kitchen planning and guest speakers to the Eglfing site in Germany for a planners' seminar on May 16, 2024.

In the picturesque Upper Bavarian surroundings of the Convotherm headquarters, over 30 planners participated. It was the third event of its kind and proved to be a great success once again. Guests enjoyed a combination of presentations, a factory tour, and product insights.

Claus Pedersen, Managing Director of Convotherm, and Tobias Brand, who was recently appointed as the Sales Manager for the DACH region for the entire Welbilt portfolio, opened the event. Tobias Brand gave a brief overview of the Welbilt Germany brands Convotherm, Merrychef, Frymaster, Lincoln, Garland, Delfield, Merco, Multiplex, Crystal Tips, and WMAXX, before handing over to Arndt Manter, who introduced the new Convotherm flexx pro multifunctional cooking system. Manter also presented intelligent solutions such as KitchenConnect®, the innovative cloud-based networking solution, and AI-controlled optical cooking with ConvoSense on the Convotherm maxx pro.

A highlight of the event was the delicious food! Chefs Jürgen Burkart and Andy Rabenseifner demonstrated the special functions of the Convotherm combi ovens, including baking and smoking, and treated the guests to the outstanding results of their cooking demonstrations.

Welbilt offers solutions based on entire concepts. Participants were also given an overview of high-performance appliances ideally suited for this, such as Merrychef high-speed ovens, Frymaster high-performance deep fryers, and Lincoln impinger ovens.

The day was rounded off by guest speakers from two companies who brought valuable industry insights: Rolf Schwebel from BGN, the Food and Hospitality Accident Insurance Association, spoke about safety including fire, ventilation, and risk assessment, and Benjamin Schäfer from RSZ Kitchen Flooring, who addressed safety in flooring.
